Abstract
This paper describes an Object Oriented Observation Tool for Simula and
languages similar to Simula. The OOOT will be based on the graphic
capabilities of modern workstations, such as high resolution graphics
and pointing devices. It constitutes the high-level user interface to
the Mjolner programming environment. The OOOT uses windows in an
object-oriented manner and hierarchical windows are used to present the
static relationship between nested blocks. Graphics is used for
presentation and navigation in the dynamic structure of the program, as
well as for user interaction. All presentation and interaction
concerning an executing program is focused on its instances. Using
information filtering the user can select the information that will be
presented in an instance.
