Software Configuration Management for Globally distributed Software Development

Today, many projects are carried out in teams that are distributed in space and time. Such teams face many challenges of cultural as well as practical matter. In this project, we will examine what fundamental issues a distributed team has to deal with as opposed to a more traditional co-located setup and ways to solve such issues that are related to SCM. Since SCM is also about co-ordinating the collaboration and communication between people on a software project, SCM may be part of the solution to a number of problems on a distributed project – or even the cause of problems if it is not implemented the right way considering the different context.
