Software Configuration Management and Continuous Software Engineering

A joint research effort between the IT University of Copenhagen (Yvonne Dittrich, Paolo Tell), Copenhagen Business School (Jacob Nørbjerg) and Lund University (Lars Bendix).

The purpose of the project is to "inventory" the current "state-of-the-art" from research and the current "state-of-the-practice" from industry. Based on that we will address identified weaknesses in the current research and identified actual problematics in industry.

The idea is to broaden the scope and not just look at the usual "technical and proecess" issues related to Continuous Delivery and DevOps, but more generally also to look at problematics related to architecture and design, user involvement, and business and organizational implications in the larger context of "Continuous Software Engineering" (CSE).

A short description of the research proposal can be found here.

Various resources related to CSE (mostly from an SCM perspective).

Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.
