CS MSc Thesis Presentation 17 December 2025
One Computer Science MSc thesis to be presented on 17 December
Wednesday, 17 December there will be a master thesis presentation in Computer Science at Lund University, Faculty of Engineering.
The presentation will take place in E:4130 (Lucas).
Note to potential opponents: Register as an opponent to the presentation of your choice by sending an email to the examiner for that presentation (firstname [dot] lastname [at] cs [dot] lth [dot] se). Do not forget to specify the presentation you register for! Note that the number of opponents may be limited (often to two), so you might be forced to choose another presentation if you register too late. Registrations are individual, just as the oppositions are! More instructions for opponents are found here on the LTH thesis project page.

- Title: Gaussian Splatting with LiDAR Data
- Examiner: Volker Krueger
- Supervisor: Michael Doggett (LTH)
3D Gaussian Splatting has extensively been used for scene reconstruction and representation since its introduction in 2023. However, its utilization for scenes involving accruate and precise geometric information, usually from a LiDAR sensor, while having sparse images has not been deeply explored. In this degree project, we the utilization of 3DGS for scene reconstruction with such a dataset, and specifically experiment with different initialization strategies. We further explore downstream tasks such as point cloud completion, coloring and making precise measurements using 3DGS.
